Management of the Barbell Athlete is a two-day beginner to intermediate course for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants (and student PTs/PTAs). The course is designed to enhance participants’ ability to clinically manage recreational and elite-level athletes who participate in barbell activities such as CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, and basic barbell resistance training. Five technical lifts will be covered during this course including the squat, deadlift, clean, jerk, and snatch. Participants will develop competency in execution, analysis, and modifications of the above lifts for people experiencing pain. Additionally, participants will learn what to look for in subjective and objective therapy examinations to inform the individual’s barbell rehabilitation program, which will consist of targeted manual therapy, barbell-specific correctives, and load management strategies.
Increase your confidence and gain the tools you need to manage patients who are barbell athletes. I'm excited to see everyone there!
